On Windows 9 leaks, this week we learned more details on Storage Sense, discovered Wi-Fi Sense from Windows Phone 8.1 is also coming to the next version of Windows. New screenshots show evidence of Cortana, Microsoft’s digital assistant, already integrating with the operating system. Also new information surfaced this week on Windows 9 adding support for 8K resolutions and better high DPI scaling. New details about the Start menu show that the new menu will change color to match the current desktop wallpaper and Windows color. We also now know that Metro-style apps from Windows 8.1 will work in Windows 9 without any problems, there will be a Windows Insider Program app to submit feedbacks and a lot more. There is also a rumor this week that Windows 9 RTM could arrive before the end of 2014 and that Microsoft is planning to easy up activation polices in the next version of Windows. Besides the summary, I’ve been noticing that Microsoft is bringing many of the Windows Phone experiences to Windows, so I gathered all this new information and I wrote a new piece detailing how it seems that Microsoft is not only migrating Windows Phone with Windows RT, but it’s also merging Windows 9 with Windows Phone 8.1. This week we learned a bit more about Internet Explorer 12, well at least we now know that Microsoft codenamed the project “Spartan”. Yes, yet another Halo reference for a Microsoft product. Microsoft releases the first version of OneNote app for Android wear, launches new Universal Mobile Keyboard that not only works in Windows, but in iOS and Android devices. However the new Bluetooth keyboard won’t work in Windows Phone. Office 16 screenshots, this week revealed more information about the next version of the popular office suite of apps.
