Now, the Folks at The Verge have just reported that the software giant is in the works of creating its own 7-inch gaming tablet and it is not the “Xbox 720”. So are we close of having a “Xbox Surface”? According to The Verge specifications of a device like this were leaked several months ago, before the unveiling of Microsoft’s Surface RT and the Pro version. The article also suggest that the Xbox Surface will include a new ARM CPU and high-bandwidth RAM designed to handle gaming, which indicates that it isn’t just a “Surface mini”. — However the company could opt to use an unannounced Intel SoC (System-on-a-Chip)–. Furthermore, the device will not run a full version of Windows, rather a custom Windows Kernel and it will be exclusively focused on gaming experiences, of course, and likely to offer Xbox Entertainment services such as Xbox Music and Video. Other features, like email and messaging, could be implemented as well. As Microsoft created its own facility to build Surface, the hardware inside of the Xbox Surface is likely to be manufactured in the same factory, and part of the device is now being developed at Microsoft’s offices in Silicon Valley.
